These terms govern your use of Tunnel Drive, an app by Gentle Motion ("we", "our", or "us"). By using the app, you agree to these terms.
What Tunnel Drive Does
Tunnel Drive is a calm, first-person ride through real road tunnels, made with sensory-sensitive children in mind. In the app you can:
- Sit back while the car drives itself through a tunnel: the approach and its signs, the portal, the passing lights, the fans, and the light at the end
- Set the pace with the gas and brake pedals, or tap the road to pause
- Choose the tunnel, the time of day, rain, traffic, the colour of the lamps and how bumpy the ride is
- Listen to the car radio, or turn all sound off
- Use Bedtime (dim, warm, night and quiet) and the Extra safe light setting, which avoids strong pulsing light
No Account Needed
Tunnel Drive needs no sign-in and no registration, and asks for no personal information. Your settings are stored locally on your device.
Free to Play and the One-Time Purchase
Some tunnels in Tunnel Drive are free to drive. There is an optional one-time purchase that permanently unlocks the other tunnels in the app. It is not a subscription and does not renew.
- The purchase unlocks the tunnels that are in the app at the time you buy it; every setting, the radio and the ride options are free to use
- The purchase is handled entirely by the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store, subject to their pricing and refund policies
- We do not collect or store any payment information
- The purchase is presented behind a simple grown-ups-only check, so it is not made by accident
Suitable for Children
This app is made for children. It has no advertisements, no chat, no social features, no user-generated content, and no links out of the app other than to our own pages and, from the grown-ups-only area, the app store. Please see our Privacy Policy for exactly what information the app does and does not handle.
A Game, Not Driving Instruction, Not a Medical Product
Tunnel Drive is a game. Its tunnels are modelled on real ones from public map and terrain data, but they are simplified for play, and the car drives itself. It is not driving instruction, route information or road-safety advice, and must not be relied on as such.
The Bedtime and Extra safe settings make the ride dimmer, quieter and steadier. They are comfort settings, not a medical device or a treatment, and they cannot guarantee that no one will be affected by light or motion on a screen. If a child is known to have photosensitive epilepsy or is affected by on-screen motion, please ask a doctor before use, and stop if they feel unwell.
Map Data and Credits
Tunnel and road shapes are built from OpenStreetMap data, © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (openstreetmap.org/copyright). Terrain heights come from the public-domain SRTM elevation data. The 3D models, sounds and fonts the game uses are credited by name and licence on the Credits page inside the app. Tunnel and place names are used only to describe the real places the tunnels are modelled on; the app is not affiliated with or endorsed by any tunnel operator or vehicle manufacturer.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any unlawful or harmful purpose, or in a way that infringes the rights of others
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, tamper with, or disrupt the app
Provided "As Is"
Tunnel Drive is provided for entertainment, "as is", without warranties of any kind. We work hard to keep it pleasant and bug-free, but we cannot guarantee it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, or that radio songs will always be available to download.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gentle Motion shall not be liable for any damages arising from your use of Tunnel Drive.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the updated terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
