Gentle Motion ("we", "our", or "us") built the Tunnel Drive app, a calm game where you sit back and ride through real road tunnels. Some tunnels are free to drive, and an optional one-time purchase unlocks the rest. This page explains what information the app does and does not handle when you use it.
Summary
We respect your privacy. Our app:
- Does not collect personal information
- Does not require account registration or sign-in
- Does not display advertisements
- Does not sell or share your information with third parties
- Does not use any advertising identifier, and does not track anyone across apps, sites, or over time
- Does not use your location — the tunnels are built into the app, not looked up from where you are
Information Collection and Use
Tunnel Drive does not collect any personally identifiable information. There is no account, no sign-in, no profile, and no way to enter a name or anything else about yourself into the game. The tunnel you last drove, your choices of time of day, weather, traffic, lights, sound, radio, steering wheel and ride, the Bedtime and Extra safe settings, and the play-time limit a grown-up sets are all stored locally on your device.
The Car Radio
The car radio plays music. One song per station is built into the app. When the device is online, the app fetches the list of available songs from our own file storage, and while the radio is playing it downloads the next song and keeps it on the device so it does not need downloading again. These downloads are plain file requests: they send nothing about you, and, as with any download, the delivering service sees the device's network address only to send the file back. We do not receive or keep it. The game works fully offline; the radio then plays the songs it already has.
Anonymous Usage Analytics
The app sends us a small amount of anonymous information about how the app itself is used, such as which screens are opened, which settings are changed and which tunnels are driven, and a report if the app crashes, so we can see which parts work and fix the ones that do not. We want to be precise about what this is, because this app is made for children:
- The app runs in a kids-safe analytics mode. The identifier attached to these events is generated fresh each time the app is opened and is never stored on the device or anywhere else.
- Because that identifier is discarded when the app closes, the events from one play session cannot be linked to any other session. Nobody, including us, can follow a person over time, recognise a returning user, or build a profile.
- No advertising identifier is used or collected. No location is collected. No contacts, photos, files, microphone, or camera data are accessed.
- These events are sent to servers we operate ourselves. They are not sent to an advertising network or a data broker, and they are never sold.
This is engagement measurement, not tracking, and it is deliberately built so that it cannot become tracking.
Feedback You Send Us
The grown-ups area (behind a grown-ups-only check) has a feedback form. If you choose to write to us there, we receive the message you write together with the app version, the device model and operating system version, and the app's language, so we can understand the problem and reply to you inside the app. We use it only to answer you and improve the app. If you include personal details in a message, we will only use them to reply.
Children's Privacy
Tunnel Drive is designed for children, including children who are sensitive to sound and light, and we are committed to protecting their privacy:
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children
- The app requires no personal information whatsoever to work
- There are no social features, no chat, no user-generated content shared with others, and no way for a child to share personal information
- The app contains no advertisements
- The anonymous usage analytics described above carry no persistent identifier, so a child cannot be recognised or followed across sessions
- The optional purchase, the settings and the feedback form sit behind a grown-ups-only check
Parents and guardians can feel confident that their children can use this app safely.
Purchases
The optional one-time purchase is handled entirely by the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. We never see or store your payment details. The app asks the store whether the purchase has been made; that is the only thing it needs to know.
Data Storage and Retention
Your settings and the downloaded radio songs are stored locally on your device only. They never leave your device and are not accessible to us. We hold no account, no profile, and no personal data about you on our servers. The anonymous usage events described above are kept for up to 90 days, crash reports for as long as they help us fix problems, and neither contains anything that identifies a person or a device.
Your Rights
You can delete everything the app has stored by uninstalling it from your device. Because we hold no account and no personal data, there is nothing on our side to identify, export, or delete, apart from any feedback message you chose to send us. If you would like to make a request, you can use our data deletion page or email us and we will confirm what we hold and delete it.
Third-Party Services
This app does not use advertising networks or third-party analytics platforms. The usage analytics described above go to our own servers. Radio songs are delivered from file storage we rent from a hosting provider, which sees only the file request. Purchases are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store under their own privacy policies.
