Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 11, 2026
Gentle Motion ("we", "our", or "us") built QuizKit, a quiz maker and grading app for teachers. This page describes how we handle your data.
Summary
- We do not collect, store, or process any student data
- Grading happens entirely on your device — scanned answer sheets never leave your phone
- We do not display advertisements
- We do not sell or share your data with third parties
Sign-In
QuizKit requires you to sign in with a Google account. We use Google Sign-In (via Firebase Authentication) to identify which quizzes belong to you. When you sign in, we receive:
- Your Google account email address
- A unique user ID assigned by Firebase
We do not receive your Google password. We do not use your account for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond linking your quizzes to you.
How Your Quizzes Are Processed
When you snap a textbook page or document to generate a quiz, the content is sent to our backend for AI processing:
- Text and images you submit are sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS)
- We use AI services to generate quiz questions from the content you provide
- The resulting quiz is stored on our servers so you can access it from your device
- Your quizzes are associated with your Google account and are only visible to you
Student Data — None Collected
QuizKit is designed so that no student data ever enters the app or our servers:
- Grading is performed entirely on your device using on-device image processing
- The app reads only the cross marks on scanned answer sheets — it does not read, store, or transmit student names, IDs, or handwriting
- Results are shown as anonymous scores (percentage correct, number of mistakes) — not linked to any individual
- Scanned images of answer sheets are processed in memory and are not uploaded anywhere
This design is intentional: teachers can use QuizKit without handling personally identifiable information about students, and without needing school, parental, or district approval for student data processing.
Data Stored on Your Device
Your sign-in session and app preferences are stored locally on your device. You can clear this data by signing out or uninstalling the app.
Analytics and Crash Reporting
We collect anonymous usage data to understand how the app is used and to fix bugs. This includes:
- Screen views and feature usage (anonymized)
- Crash reports
Analytics and crash data is processed on our own self-hosted servers and is never shared with third parties. We do not collect personally identifiable information in analytics.
Purchases
Any purchases are handled entirely by the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. We do not collect or store payment information.
Your Rights
You can:
- Sign out of the app at any time
- Request deletion of your data or your entire account via our deletion request form
- Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data
Children's Privacy
QuizKit is designed for teachers, not students. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Because grading happens entirely on-device and we do not read student names or identifiers, no student information — including from children — ever reaches our servers.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
